Judy Jablon has been a consultant to the Maryland State Department of Education for 11 years, during which time she has contributed significantly to Maryland's Early Childhood initiative, specifically the development of The Maryland Model for School Readiness (MMSR). The purpose of the MMSR is to improve the performance of kindergarten, prekindergarten, and special education students by providing intensive professional development for teachers and other early childhood providers.

Judy has been masterful in assisting all school systems in Maryland to improve school readiness using the standards-based approach that links curriculum, assessment, and instruction. In addition, Judy has coached Maryland's cadre of MMSR trainers. The on-going relationship they have had with Judy has enabled all members of the cadre to emerge with confidence in their facilitation skills and strategies, a stronger knowledge base about how young children learn, and an increased desire to set high standards of quality for their personal and professional growth.
